  • Athur Kitchili Samba is a legendary fine-grained white rice variety from Tamil Nadu, famously associated with the Athur region.     Cooking Instructions

    Athur rice is known for its beautiful, separate grains and subtle aroma:

    1. Rinse: Gently wash the rice 2 times to preserve the natural nutrients.
    2. Soak: Soak for 30 minutes to allow the grains to hydrate for even cooking.
    3. Cook (Pressure Cooker): Use a 1:2.5 rice-to-water ratio. Cook for 3 whistles on a medium flame.
    4. Cook (Open Pot): Use a 1:3 ratio. Boil until the grains are soft yet firm, then drain the excess starch.
    5. Serve: Its neutral yet rich flavour makes it the ideal partner for South Indian Sambar, spicy Kuzhambu, or even a simple Ghee-dal mash.
